The story of Pain Plaisir began in 2012, when the two founders, Irina Stăncescu and Tom Rees, came to Bucharest from Paris, where they worked in the field of high level gastronomy. Tom comes from a family with a tradition in the restaurant business, so from an early age he had contact with gastronomy, ending up working as a pastry chef at the Parisian restaurant Pierre Gagnaire, a 3 Michelin stars restaurant. He then followed his passion for boulangerie by joining Cyrill Lignac's team as Chef Boulanger. Irina graduated from the Cordon Bleu cuisine and patisserie courses in Paris (Grand Diploma), worked as a chef at Pierre Gagnaire, where she met Tom, and then in one of the chicest patisseries in Paris, Pain de Sucre.Tom is in love with bread, as long as he's known, that's how he learned to make good bread. Irina likes to make desserts and cooking.
